About Myrtletown
Myrtletown is an unbounded locality within the
suburb of Pinkenba, Brisbane, Queensland,
Australia. In the east of Pinkenba, Myrtletown is
situated near the northern bank of the mouth of
the Brisbane River. Formerly a semi-rural
residential area, the construction of the Brisbane
Airport at nearby Cribb Island caused most
residents to leave.
Myrtletown is 5km east of Pinkenba but struggles
to retain a separate identity.In the 2006 Australian
Census, 342 people considered Myrtletown (as
part of Pinkenba) the place they most likely call
home. The average person was a comfortable 41
years of age.
