About Kearsley
Kearsley is a small suburban town located in the
local government area of the Cessnock City
Council in the state of New South Wales. The
earliest settlement activity began in the suburb in
1850. In the early times, much of the land in the
surrounding areas were used for agriculture, dairy
farming, grazing, saw-milling, coal mining and
timber-getting. Kearsley is within the Cessnock
Central Business District-Aberdare-South
Cessnock-Kearsley district.
Kearsley is a suburb of Hunter Valley, New South
Wales and is about 113 kms north of NSW's capital
city of Sydney. In the 2011 Australian census the
population of Kearsley was 740 when there were
351 Females and 389 Males living there. The
median age for people living in Kearsley was 35.
