About Capel
Capel is a suburb of South Western, Western
Australia and is about 180 kms south of WA's capital
city of Perth. In the 2011 Australian census the
population of Capel was 2,201 when there were
1,110 Females and 1,091 Males living there.
Capel is a town in the South West region of
Western Australia, midway between Bunbury and
Busselton. Capel has become popular for hobby
farms, and a number of innovative agricultural
pursuits have been introduced, including alpacas,
viticulture, aquaculture and growing of blue gums.
There is also some mining of mineral sands in the
Shire, and tourism is increasingly important to the
Shire's economy.
