Burekup is a suburb of South Western, Western
Australia and is about 151 kms south of WA's capital
city of Perth. In the 2011 Australian census the
population of Burekup was 520 when there were
258 Females and 262 Males living there.
Burekup is a small town located on the South
Western Highway in the South West Region of
Western Australia.
Burekup was originally developed as a timber town
in the early part of the 20th Century but has since
attracted residents servicing surrounding rural
activities.
And more recently, Burekup has begun to attract
more ‘lifestyle’ residents who commute to nearby
employment centres.
