Montmorency is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria,
Australia, 18 km (11 mi) north-east from
Melbourne's Central Business District. Its local
government area is the City of Banyule. At the 2011
Census, Montmorency had a population of 8,759.
The main commercial street is Were Street.
There is a second business precinct located 1.1 km
to the south east of Were Street, on Grand
Boulevard, mainly catering to small offices.
Montmorency has hilly parklands adjoining the
Plenty River on its western side and several
neighbourhood parks, particularly in its south-east
sector.
