About Edithburgh
Edithburgh is a suburb of Spencer Gulf, South
Australia and is about 80 kms west-southwest of
SA's capital city of Adelaide. In the 2011 Australian
census the population of Edithburgh was 466 when
there were 220 Females and 246 Males living
there. The median age for people living in
Edithburgh was 54.
Edithburgh is a popular family holiday destination
on the Yorke Peninsula. It has a reputation for
excellent fishing for mullet, yellow fin and whiting
both off the jetty and the beach; swimming at both
Sultana Point Beach and the town's excellent tidal
rock pool; snorkelling, sail boarding and scuba
diving.
Edithburgh is in the Yorke Peninsula Council, the
South Australian House of Assembly electoral
district of Goyder and the Australian House of
Representatives Division of Grey.
