Oakey is a suburb of South Eastern, Queensland
and is about 129 kms west of QLD's capital city of
Brisbane. In the 2011 Australian census the
population of Oakey was 4,529 when there were
2,202 Females and 2,327 Males living there. The
median age for people living in Oakey was 35.
Oakey is a rural town situated in the Darling
Downs region of Queensland, Australia. It is
situated 29 kilometres west of the regional city of
Toowoomba. It is surrounded by farms, and an
open cut coal mine is located at Acland, 10 km
north of the town. Oakey is one of the towns
contained in the Queensland State Electoral
district of Condamine.
