Kalkadoon is a suburb of Western, Queensland
and is about 1567 kms west-northwest of QLD's
capital city of Brisbane.
The Kalkadoon are descendants of an Indigenous
Australian tribe living in the Mount Isa region of
Queensland. The Kalkadoon have been
commemorated in the name of the Kalkadoon
grasswren, a bird with as small territorial range
confined to the slopes of the Mt Isa region.
