About Dalby
Dalby is a town in the Darling Downs region of
Queensland, Australia, and is approximately 208
kilometres (129 mi) north northwest of the state
capital, Brisbane, at the junction of the Warrego,
Moonie and Bunya Highways. Dalby is the
administrative centre of the Western Downs
Region and the centre of Australia's richest grain
and cotton growing area. At the 2011 census, Dalby
had a population of 12,299.
In the heart of the downs, Dalby lays along the
banks of the Myall Creek surrounded by an
incredibly diverse cross section of farmers, all
taking advantage of the rich black soil this area
provides.
