About Uralla
Uralla is a town on the Northern Tablelands, New
South Wales, Australia. Uralla is located at the
intersection of the New England Highway and
Thunderbolts Way, 465 kilometres north of Sydney
and about 23 kilometres south west of the city of
Armidale. At the 2011 census, the township of Uralla
had a population of 2,388 people
Uralla is a prosperous rural service town
surrounded by the rich, fertile soils of the New
England district. Today the prosperity of Uralla
relies on its proximity to Armidale; the superfine
wool and cattle which is produced on the
surrounding properties; and its location as a
tourist destination.
