About Islington
Islington is a suburb of Hunter Valley, New South
Wales and is about 117 kms north-northeast of
NSW's capital city of Sydney. In the 2011 Australian
census the population of Islington was 1,806 when
there were 906 Females and 900 Males living
there. The median age for people living in Islington
was 35.
Islington is a suburb of the city of Newcastle in the
Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia.
Located only 3.4 kilometres from the Newcastle
CBD on one of Newcastle's major arterial roads, it
was initially developed as a residential suburb.
Today it includes a small industrial area and is
adjacent to the Newcastle campus of the Hunter
Institute of Technology.
