About Forster
Forster is a coastal town in the Mid North Coast
region of New South Wales, Australia, in the Mid-
Coast Council LGA, about 308 km north-north-
east of Sydney. Forster is immediately adjacent to
its twin, Tuncurry, which is the smaller of the two
towns.
At the 2011 census, the Forster-Tuncurry area had a
population of 18,904 people, while the permanent
population of Forster alone was 13,116.
The twin townships of Forster - Tuncurry are
surrounded by National Parks and feature
majestic headlands and long secluded beaches.
Boating, fishing, diving, paddling, cruises, whale
watching and coastal walks combine with galleries,
unique shopping and award-winning restaurants
to create an experience rich coastal destination.
