About Balladoran
Balladoran is a town located within the local
government area of the Gilgandra Shire in the
Orana region of New South Wales. The shire is
adjacent to the junction of the Castlereagh, Newell
and Oxley highways. Balladoran is about six
hours away from the Sydney central business
district. The shire is well-known for being home to
some part of the Warrumbungles National Park, a
heritage-listed national park that covers over
23,000 hectares of land. A very popular tourist
attraction, the park attracts about 35,000 visitors
every year. Balladoran is situated within the
Pilliga Important Bird area because it is the home
of many woodland bird species.
