About Rottnest Island
Rottnest Island is an island off the coast of Western
Australia, located 18 kilometres west of Fremantle.
Rottnest Island is about 30 kms west of WA's capital
city of Perth.
A sandy, low-lying island formed on a base of
limestone, Rottnest Island is an A-class reserve,

land.

although there is also a bus service. Cycling is the
transport of choice for most visitors, with many
either bringing a bicycle with them or hiring one at
the island's facility.
