Waterways is a residential suburb located in
Melbourne's south approximately 25km south of
the Melbourne CBD. Originally a housing
development, Waterways is just east of Mordialloc.
Waterways is Australia's only suburb that's 20%
parkland and 40% water. Over 46 hectares of
wildlife sanctuary were artificially created in and
around the swampy marshlands of Moridalloc
Creek.
In the 2011 Australian census the population of
Waterways was 2,161 when there were 1,056
Females and 1,105 Males living there. The median
age for people living in Waterways was 33.
