About Legana
Legana is a small township on the Tamar River
in northern Tasmania, Australia. It is 12
kilometres north of Tasmania's second largest
city, Launceston. It is adjacent to Riverside,
Bridgenorth, Grindelwald and Rosevears. At the
2006 census, Legana had a population of
2,500.
Legana is a suburb of Launceston,
approximately 13 kilometres from the city
centre.
Legana is situated in the West Tamar region
of Launceston, alongside the river.
Legana marks the beginning of the areas close
to Launceston where you start to see semi-
rural properties, small acreages and some
larger properties. It is still only 15 minutes form
the city, so presents a great option if you would
like a little space around you.
The facilities in Legana are good, with the shops
you need day to day.
Legana is part of the West Tamar Council area.
