Located in the ultra-scenic Huon Valley, Franklin is
the oldest township in the region and sits quietly
on the western side of the beautiful Huon River.
The riverside township of Franklin has lots of old-
fashioned Tasmanian charm, from the quaint
historic buildings and streetscape to the pretty
wooden boats floating on the Huon River.

Franklin is a small township in the south-east of
Tasmania, between Huonville and Geeveston.
It currently has a population of around 1,000 who
either work in agriculture, aquaculture and
forestry or commute to Hobart which is only a little
over half an hour away. Franklin is located 45 km
south-west of Hobart on the Huon Highway.
