Bongaree is a suburb in Moreton Bay Region,
Queensland, Australia. Bongaree is located on the
western side of Bribie Island, adjacent to
the Pumicestone Passage. At the 2006 census, the
suburb recorded a population of 14,275 persons,
with a median age of 55 years.
The suburb of Bongaree is located in the Outer
Northern Suburbs of Queensland. Bongaree is
about 44 kilometres off of the capital city of
Brisbane. Some of the scenic landscapes and
waterscapes that are found within the vicinity of
Bongaree are Deception Bay, Gallagher Point and
Bribie Island, to mention a few.
